92 100 CSQ - needs engine - need help

Hi All,
Its been a while since I've posted - since I'm currently sans Audi.  I have
an opportunity to get a 92 100 CS Q - manual trans with a shot engine.  I
know that these weren't the best Audis to have but I would like some advice.
  Should I get it (for cheap) and replace the engine myself?  Has anyone
done this or have ideas regards to price and what to look for - I know the
v6's leaked alot, but don't know much more since my only experience was with
the I5's.
I'd love to get back into the fold and this may be a chance to do that -
please help - soon - as I need to decide....  And, please email direct as
