I'm no expert but AFAIK "You've got mail" is a grammatically acceptable
sentence in *English* :)
In fact someone who said "you have mail" in such a context would immediately
be identified as speaking "american" on this side of the pond as the former
is definitely the norm here.
You've got the right to say what you want in my world though :)
