I just greased the ends of the spring and the spring seats with dielectric
(silicone) grease before I put the wastegate back together. This seemed
effective for allowing the spring to slip on the seats. I also used
locktite when I tightened the bolt onto the spring seat to lessen the
chance of things coming loose. Of course you have to get the locktite done
before introducing the silicone grease because once that stuff is all over
you might never get things tight. Using washers in addition to the silicone
grease should work better yet.
