It has always bothered me. Maybe it's elitist on my part, but to me it
reflects the fact that AOL markets to less-sophisticated consumers who
presumably don't realize there IS an issue with their grammar. I'm
constantly surprised how many people don't outgrow AOL in a couple of months
and move on to another ISP. AOL's browser is the worst in the biz, and their
interface doesn't do anything for users that they can't do for themselves.
OTOH, now they're famous for that ungrammatical greeting - they even do a
"Simpsons" and I've heard that from time to time they have guest voices
(actors, etc.) doing their stupid greeting phrase.....
