My '93 Miata has a dead pedal that attaches to the
floorboard with two bolts. You might try to find one
to see how it fits.

If you want to do-it-yourself, try fashioning one from
some stiff cardboard, then make a real one out of
aluminum sheet. It shouldn't be too difficult to bend
it into shape.
