Audifest 2002

Alright, as the list elders no doubt remember, it's been a while
since we had an Audifest. 3 years or more, right?

I suggest next Saturday evening!

"What, is he insane?!!"

I suggest we meet virtually.

I can set up an IRC(internet relay chat) server here at home- there
are TONS of clients for almost every operating system in existence,
including lots of free ones...I'll put up a page with links and
information, and set up the server in advance(and try to hang around
on the channel) so people can test things out beforehand. Hell, stop
in and see if anyone's around...I think an IRC channel would be fun
to keep up full time.

Plusses:

-cheap. The normal kind of Audifest involves lots of gas, oil, and
aux cooling pumps, especially in restaurant parking lots ;-)
-easy. Just gotta toss some software on the 'ol PC. Not to mention,
you can crack as many beers as you want, not worry about driving home
or getting stuck with the tab :-)
-world-reaching. Even our friends down under can join us, if they're awake :-)
-Better Half doesn't even have to know
-easy to give someone the boot if they get unruly

Negatives:

-no cool pictures of 50 zillion type 44's terrorizing the highways of America
-can't get away from the Better Half
-comments are preserved for all eternity

So, whatcha all say, mmm? If the idea flies, we can post an
announcement to all the lists and I'll get cracking on an info page.
