Your lock article was excellent and I have been fooling around with my
own.
Man, oh, man. When I took the first cylinder apart I was saying to
myself, "... how in the hell did this thing work in all that hardened
grease." And you were right when you said, "...you won't believe how
easy the lock will work." I was out in the driveway laughing away as
though I was possessed. I don't eant to mention the string of
invectives on the list; but there were a few.
That brings me to the point of this e-mail. On the wafers or tumbelers
there are some notches. Do these notches indicate the size of the
tumbelers?
My passenger side door does not have a key which will open it. However
if I take the drivers side lock out again and make a list of the grouves
cut into the side of the tumbeler and match these up (the groves) would
this duplicate the wafers and allow me to use the same key for both
doors?
And last but not least, are these wafers standard througt out the
automobile industry? Or they Audi only, German only,or European only?
Thanks a bunch for your writeup,
Donald
