Hi listers.
A week ago I reported a promblem with Bilstein HDs on my 200 tqa. I
worked like solid metal rod would work.
A tech in one of Bilstein dealer guessed, after I told to him that I put
light oil into housing, that shock could suck the oil inside and create
and work as a stop. He was right. There are two ~4mm holes on the
bottom where oil would go even without suction. But to my surprise left
shock was FULL of water. I looked like half of a quart! The right one
had just a little oil as I would expect. I am really puzzled. How did
it get there The only way though the big nut seal, I think. The only
difference between left and right sides I found is the thin lip on the
left nut which seals polished rod (is piston right name?) was crack in
several places. But amount of water in the shock stunned me. Tomorrow
fist thing I will call a dealer asking whether I can buy nuts. Misa
think do I have rubber boot installed correctly. It is just flooping
on the shock, niether bottom nor top is attached to any part. Is it
correct?
