DeWitt,
Yes - I installed flywheel from a 200 quattro and used a new 200 pressure
plate and clutch disk and T.O.B. into my '87 5000 quattro. All pins, teeth
and diminsions matched the flywheel combo off the 5000.

'87 5000 tqa - Engine rebuilt incl. following -
T03/K26 hybrid turbo.
Elgin 260i254e cam
adjustable cam sprocket - currently set for 0
new valve seals, lifters & techtonics springs
new piston rings, connecting rod and main bearings, all new seals.
2-Piece Exhaust manifold, highflow cat and 2.5" Stebro exhaust.
All visible casting flash removed from components.
Mild port and polish to head and manifolds with ports matched.
Bypass valve located in intercooler where untapped hole was with bypass
flow directed toward turbo
Supplimentary fuel injector installed in intercooler (but not connected to
fuel or 034EFI yet) - injector is inline just prior to throttle body hose.
200 Flywheel, Clutch and Pressure plate, slave cyl.
QLCC chip with variable resistor modded ECU, Schrapnel Knob + 2 bar SJM
spring for control. Set to 16 PSI boost for now.
[I am under the impression that the lighter flywheel from
the '91 200 can be installed onto a stock MC engine with
its stock AES code 016 transmission. Is it a correct statement
that all else that is needed is to include the appropriate
clutch disk and pressure plate? Will the stock MC/AES release
bearing and fork assembly operate the new clutch assembly
properly? Or must the transmission be converted to new style
release bearing and fork also? I hope not the later
since that would seem to require a new TOB guide sleeve and
other TOB/fork bits and pieces. Finally, will all the timing pins
on the 3B flywheel assembly be in the right places. Thanks very
much indeed for any guidance.
