No.  There are quite a number of signifcant differences, particularly
in the ignition and boost control areas.

Nope.  Yet another special custom Audi version of CIS.  Not CIS-E, not CIS-E3.
I wouldn't call it "crappy", it does what it's designed to do and does
it well.  It has its limitations, and is not as "hip" technologically as
the later systems, but it was a fine system for its time.
