Its a CIS K-Jetronic system, but is specific to the turbo cars.  No knock
sensing or ignition maps.

No, MC is CIS Motronic, added knock sensing, fuel frequency valve, ignition
maps, etc.

No, CIS-3 is not crappy, its the most advanced CIS system Audi ever put on
the Normally Aspirated cars, included power stage ignition, knock sensing,
full ignition mapping with load sensing, etc.  Granted, its still CIS, so its
crappy in the regard of modifying it for higher output, but its still a good
system.

Honestly, there isn't any real difference, just raise the boost on either for
good results.
