for those of you interested, the flip out cupholder from a '95-'97 B4 Passat
will fit into almost ANY audi (or any ofther car for that matter) just trim
the passat mounting tabs off the back w/ a dremel and trim off the sections
of the back so its flush (easy )  and it mounts to any reasonably flat
surface or works excellent on the type44 console down low on the passenger
side where i have one mounted in my 86 5kT.
