The pressure warning system works by using two different senders, one at
0.3 bar which worries it all the time and one a 1.8 bar which it only
gets nervous about above 2.5 or 3k or so rpms. One cars with a pressure
gauge, one of these is combined in a two pin unit with the 0-5 bar gauge
sender.
If you have a new single pin 1.8 switch, sounds like you need the plain,
0.3 bar plus gauge, two pin sender.
Corrections to me reasoning are welcome... as usual... of course, it
would make sense to be using the configuration that came with the car,
but all the connectors are usually free hanging (single pin ones), so
they can be plugged in wherever they belong.

Sounds pretty good, I think Brendan paid more than that when getting a
two pin unit to add an oil pressure gauge to his 4kq.
