Hey all, just thought I'd share some great pics Mike Viglia took of 80tq during the October Laguna Q-club event. The hapless passenger in one of the pics is Chris Daringer (sp, sorry) who was quoted as saying, between breaths, "I see what you mean about those brakes!" as we were diving down into the cork screw.
My first full weekend at Laguna, I must say its a wonderful track, the best I've ever driven, every turn is a joy to tackle (except turn 11, in like a lamb, out like a lion type of turn). The car was running very fast, even on street tires (Kumbo 712) I had no problem outrunning chipped and modded S4tt's on DOT legal race tires. My speed coming over turn 1 was about 110mph, the car had more, but I was lacking the b*lls to really push it into turn 2 (downhill, left hand hair pin 180).
Car was running good for the most part, I was running 18psi on 100 oct at one point, the power was ohh so nice (damn this CA gas), I was lighting up all 4 tires in 2nd and 3rd coming out of turn 11. I started having a fuel pressure cut out towards the end of the weekend under max-boost which I traced to the fuel pump, changing out to a mongo S. African CIS pump seemed to do the trick (same size as 80q pump but 1" longer).
Anyway, hope to see some more of you out at the next event at Thunder hill, and even the next Laguna event in Feb, see www.quattroclubusa.org for more info.
