shrapnel knobs and cheap chips

Mike,

My worst mileage, short trip cold 5-7 min. is over 23 MPG. I recently got
over 28 MPG on long trip and not light pedaling it either as my cruising
speed averaged over 70 and the vehicle was fully laden. If I try I can get
near 40 MPG on the highway.

You may want to check/replace your Oxy. sensor, and also the Multi-Funtion
temp switch will throw the mileage off. When I replaced the Oxy sensor, my
mileage actually went down a little, but the car ran better. Replacement
of a faulty temp sensor brough the mileage back in line.

These are just a few things to try, but the QLCC chip will not lower your
gas mileage. How you drive with the chip might.

I went from a pump cutout bypass to a QLCC ECU as well. I have noticed the
car is running pretty rich as evidenced by pretty dark plugs and poor
mileage, 22 HWY, vs 27 with resistor mods. The car is otherwise running
very well (start, idle, 02 sensor etc)
does this mesh with any other experiences? I drive quite a bit and a 100
mile ding per tank is a bit painful.
