Bomb

Hello folks,
A friend just handed me an assembly comprised of an aluminum "fixture" with
pressure switch, an electric motor and what looks like a "bomb". He "thinks"
it came from an Audi 80 or 90, of indeterminate age.
The "Bomb" is attached by (apparently) an allen head bolt.
I have yet to crawl under my '86 and pull the ailing bomb and check for
numbers, but is there any chance this newer bomb (removed from the
"assembly, of course) could work in that application?
