Hello Chuch and fellow listers,
Question about the keys for your 94 90 CS. I have a 94 90 CS Quattro that I=
would like to get an additional key with remote for, it has the factory in=
stalled infrared remote system for which I have been quoted $100 for a repl=
acement key blank for, I am wondering if yours has this same system and if =
you have a price from the dealer for a key with remote?
Another thing you would like to know is that one dev.12v.org the instructio=
ns are listed on how to program the remote, you can do it yourself and save=
the money the dealer would charge for this. http://dev.12v.org/maintenance=
.php?section=3Dhowtos&subsection=3Drlocks is a direct link to the instructi=
ons.
Does anybody out there know of a better price for this key than the price I=
have been quotted by the dealer? I would even consider a key from a car th=
at has already been cut if someone would have one from a salvage yard or so=
mething, I could then cut the actual key off of it and just use it as a rem=
ote.
If anyone out there has a source for the key please reply to me dirrectly a=
s I am in digest mode.
Thank you,
Jon,

Greetings Listers.
My "new" 94 90CS is nice and secure in front of the house, but
unfortunately I cannot convince my 2yr old to reveal what he did with
the keys!!
Anyhow, here's my plan (open for input):
Call AAA to pop open the door.
Assuming they can do this with "slim jim" or such?
Pop the hood and disconnect the battery.
Pull the deriver's door lock cylinder and have locksmith cut a new key.
Dealer was not sure if key codes would be on any other cylinders.
Anyone know if the codes would be on the trunk lock cylinder and if so,
would that be any easier to get at than the driver's door?
Suspect that I need to pull the door panel to get it out? Any BTDT
for pulling the lock cylinder would be appreciated.
I've been holding until Christmas for getting a Bentley.
In the meantime might someone be able to tell me what reprogramming a
new keyless remote would entail. The dealer mentioned needing 2 keys
and "pushing a few buttons."
Thanks in advance,
Chuck
