87 4kq 5cyl, ticking noise from manifold

Wrong side of engine for that noise.  If I remeber correct, the Aux pump
is on the drivers side, the intake and noise is on the Passenger side of
engine.  I wouldn't think that it could make the noise bounce across the
engine, the casing of the Aux pump is queit compared to the noise the
intake is making.

It's probably the auxiliary vacuum pump rod.  One cure, if this is the

cause, is simply to remove the actuator rod.  It's a bit of overkill
anyway.
