James,
as far as I remember from my research there is no questions about
compatibility of the grease and brake fluid. They must be sealed from
each other. The O-ring should be compatible with brake fluid and
grease. EPDM rubber is only one compatible with brake fluids and it is
not degrades in silicon grease. But it does in regular or synthetic
grease. I used it with Valvolin PowerSyntec and now I wait when it
fails. By the way, silicon grease gets along well with any rubber
except silicon rubber. I was not able to find a source for EPDM O-rings
of metric sizes. If buna-N holds well in brake fluid then it will work
with silicon grease. The only question how does it behave in brake
fluid?

Konstantin.
