Ummmn... Obviously I did not know what everyone was talking about... What is
stopping someone from making a mold and cranking these things out of
fiberglass? Granted I guess there is not going to be much of a customer
base, but if you could sell a half dozen hoods, you could still make a nice
profit selling parts for half of what Audi wants.

Those prices are definitely not roubles - I have some UK prices, EXCLUDING
17.5% sales tax:

A Sport Quattro is a homologation special. Audi hand-built about 200 of them
in the early 80's. They were full of composites and carbon fiber, and were
short-wheelbase UrQ's with aluminum 300hp 20valve turbo 5 cylinders. They
are now pretty much 100k$ collectibles. Some of the parts are unobtainable.
I chuckled when I saw a price quoted at all.

There's no way it's rubles. That would be approx. $250US for what's probably
a carbon fibre hood.
