I'm reading the Bentley. As I remember, car is and 85 4kq, correct? He's
saying now that the air sensor plate is moving with difficulty upward,
correct?

 Bentley says:
  Operate starter for 10 seconds ( to pressurize system).
  Lift plate with a magnet or pliers. An even resistance must be felt
throuhout entire range of travel. If plate is moved quickly from raised
position to rest position, no resistance must be felt. Otherwise, replace air
flow sensor.
  If plate is hard to move upward, but moves freely downward, control plunger
is sticking : Replace fuel distributor.
