Temp idiot light, getting worse

I checked the level. It is plenty high. And the hoses, etc, look
great. It probably is due for a coolant change...Smells a little
funny..But the coolant is only 6 months old. The guy before me had the
head reworked (machined, etc).

Thanks,

Hello Cade,
I have had the same problem in my '84 4kqs, if I topped off the
overflow tank frequently it helped keep the light from coming on. I
believe low level in the tank is what causes the blinking. After
flushing the rad and replacing all the hoses the light has stopped going
on. I think this is a fairly common problem.
