Audi 4000 fog lights?

Audi did offer a fog light kit for the 4000. They were Marchel (sp?) lights
and fit in the lower grill. Included were wiring brackets, factory switch
and lower grill with cutouts. I suspect I may have the last remaining NOS
set still in the box with grill.

BTW you cannot put the fog lights where the reflectors are since they double
as covers for the bumper mounting on US spec. cars.

Subject: Audi 4000 fog lights?

Hello All,

I just bought a set of Bosch fog lights for my '85 4000q. They are
rectangular and appear to be about the same size as those NLA clear
reflectors on the front bumper. Does anyone know if these fogs they can
be mounted in place of those reflectors to maintain a "factory"
appearance?

The lights were advertised as being "for" Audi 4000, but the kit appears
to be a generic kit. It includes a relay, wiring, and dash switch.

The dash switch is an ugly generic toggle switch - Did Audi offer fog
lights as a factory or dealer option on the 4000? If so, I'd like to
use the factory switch instead. I'm hoping there is a factory switch
that fits into one of those switch blanks on either side of the
instrument cluster...

I google'd the web and groups but didn't find anything helpful.

Thanks,
George
