Boost controller options + solution to my low boost problem

I think the only real downside to the manual system is
the lack of automatic safeguards. That's why it's
called a "schrapnel knobben", right? This is fine to
me as long as:
you use good gas always(no 87 octane)
you really KNOW your car/engine
you know when it's knocking and drop
boost
you can "tolerate" a blown engine
What I mean by tolerate is that it's not an end of the
world situation like you just blew the 20 grand mill
in your new S8 and they voided the warranty because of
your mods. Dig? I think by your posts that you meet
all of these criteria, so why not go for a $20-50
manual boost system using bypass air? I would spring
for a good pressure regulator. Some of the cheap
Chinese ones aren't very accurate and will leak or
change pressures on their own. BTDT, with shop air.
