Assessing a shop's integrity

I wonder what would cause simultaneous failure of all windows regulators
(except driver's side) in 5KTQ. Would that be a broken wire in the harness
in a front door (driver side) rubber boot? I spliced it so many times that I
am afraid to open it again. I suspect it might be something more serious
this time.
Thanks,
