Wobbly Harmonic Damper?

Morning, all. I noticed what looked like a large wobble in the harmonic
damper/crank pully over the weekend.

I know that on some cars the rubber part of the damper wears out and the
unit must be replaced before it sreands you-- is this a concern in a type
44?

Also, again for other cars, there are underdrive replacements available
that are smaller and lighter- resulting in better throttle response and
more HP to the wheels (at the expense of HP to the accessories). Do such
things exist for the I-5?

Lastly, some motors require the damper to prevent serious damage, while
others (most notably most I-4s) don't seem to care whether the crank pully
is damped or not. Anyone know how important harmonic damping is to us?
Damped pulleys tend to be a lot more expensive than undamped ones.
