FWIW, at least one of the coomercial units, made by Marc Hallman, has a
reputation for rock-solid, spike free control. I haven't used his myself,
but I *have* experienced the frustration of trying to tune a home made one
to get rid of the spike, and everyone that does use his seems very pleased
with it. A google search for "Hallman MBC" should find you a vendor. (And
prolly 1000 users, too..)
No connection to him of his product- just read a lot of glowing reports
from other turbo enthusiasts.
