My husband worked on replacing the high pressure power steering hose
last weekend and I didn't notice the oily hand print marks on the car
right away.
They are not coming off very easily. I have pearlized white
finish. :-(( What do you all use ? Fay

I have used "GO-JO" for many years with good results. Used to be sold in
stores like K-Mart, but you can also find it in some auto part stores. Use
the small white plastic container (about 3"high, 4-1/2" diameter,
replaceable plastic lid), with blue writing. The cleaner is in a soft
white cream form. It contains a bit of kerosene and lanolin. Apply a
little bit to a soft clean cloth, then rub over the area. Then wash the
area with soapy water. This will take some of the wax down. It works good
on road tar also. Test it on a lower part of the fender or such. It will
also remove exhaust residue. To test it - Get your hands dirty with old
oil or grease, use the cream to remove the grime form your hands, wipe your
hands clean with another rag, wash your hands with soap and water, and you
will see how well this cream works. I have used it to remove oil from my
suits, before sending them to the dry cleaners. Because it is soft
(non-abrasive) I have found that it will work good on car finishes, just
may have to rewax the area.
