Alternator is taking a while to kick in

Andrew,
The D+ bad connection that I fixed was inside the panel. I didn't touch on
the stretch in the engine bay.
However, if I had a bad contact it would at least oscilate between charge and
no charge. Am I right?
It doesn't happen this way. It actually works fine(continuously) after the
initial 5 minutes.
