The water pump on my wife's 4kq that I replaced, along with belt and idler,
a couple months ago had at least half an inch of slop movement to it. The
pump had been leaking out its shaft seal. PO had replaced belt maybe 30K
ago, but apparently not the pump or idler.
Anyway, one of the things that happened while we ran it with a slight leak
was it overheated. That was what stopped our use until I could do the
replacement.
