Bypass Valves

Considering that so many Audis regularly blow bypass valves,
I thought it interesting that the OEM valve in our A4 1.8T was
not blown when I replaced it a couple months ago, having been in
the car for nearly 3 years.

After pulling it, I took a cutting wheel to the valve, popped the
top off of it and examined the diaphragm- as expected, plenty of
oil buildup, but no damage or leaks.

Just thought I'd run that by the lists to see if my experience is
unusual, considering that my 200 went through two valves in about
15 months and it's running a Bailey w/o problems now.
