POR-20 and a new muffler

Fellow Audinauts,(or is that Audinuts?)
After finally scoring a new Leistritz muffler for my
Syncro, I ran across the POR web site. Got me to
thinking. The POR-20 stuff looks good. Would it help
the longevity if I coated the outside AND allowed some
to coat the inside bottom of the muffler? Any BTDT's?
Or am I just wasting time and money? This stuff ain't
cheap! But then, neither is a new muffler, even if I
did get it at a bargain, once you add installation.
I'd like this to be the last one I have to bother
with.
