Final Drive Synthetic stuff ?

I think one calls what used to be termed the "rear end" in a
rear-wheel drive car the *final drive* in a front wheel drive -- so
if I have that terminology right, I think we had better replace that
as well.    My husband says that it is thick and unlike tranny fluid
and they cannot be mixed. . . . . I never thought to mix them  ;-)

My car is the '89 200 Turbo Automatic No-Q

Would someone recommend whether we should go with synthetic on that as well ??

Please recommend a quality brand.
