The 944 turbo(aka 951) only came with 217hp except for the early
Turbo S and the later Turbo, which both had 250hp.
Even a Turbo S would be very hard pressed to keep pace with the
Calloway, at fully 35 more hp, and slightly lighter chassis.
Let's look at price- going price for the Turbo S seems to be around
$20,000 roughly. I believe that purchase price plus cost of the
interior swap, body repair+painting, engine reassembly,
etc...probably came in well under $5,000.
$5k/284hp versus $20k/250hp.
I know which way I'd go. The dash ain't ugly to the point of $15k :-)
