'86 Type 44 fuel pump replacement

I asked that question and couldn't really get a firm
answer. Noone seems to KNOW if they have fixed any QC
issues with that pump. I chose to install a German
made Bosch from the junkyard I dubbed "shiny". All
external indicators of age had not shown on this pump.
I compared a total of 5 pumps. Both visually and by
jumping them out of the car for 5 seconds to listen to
them. This ones' made nearly 4k miles and still is
silent. I think I made a good choice. I'm sure that
this pump was replaced and then the car wrecked in
short order.
