I can't take credit for the ground wire fix. Credit
MUST be given to Josh Van Tol, whom responded
to my intermittent sensor problem post. I'm about to
try what Doyt had tried myself. Just MUST remember
to disconnect any faulty or resistant existing grounds,
as or you will get floating ground issues, of which I can't
imagine what effects will occur.
Note, one POSSIBLE way to test for floating grounds is
to test the voltage from 12V hot to ground in several
places around the car, especially after replacing a ground
strap. IF the voltage readings aren't the same all the way
around, you should check the grounds. A VOM will not
always detect a floating ground by doing a resistance measure,
as the the current flow of the meter is unlikely to be enough
to have a small resistance show.
