Hey Gang: I just want to weigh in the side of antiseize. I agree I have
not seen AntiSeize mentioned in the manual, but without AntiSeize,
maintaining my cars would become very frustrating. It doesn't take long
here in Ontario before a wheel can become rusted / corroded to the hub.
In the past, before finding out about antiseize, I would clean with wire
brush and coat with grease. This would help, but wouldn't last long.
Recently I have been doing work on cars that I have worked on 2 or 3
years ago, and been pleasantly surprised when a bolt or nut turned
without undue force. Then I see the light coating of AntiSeize and say
'Oh, yah, it worked!'
I don't go to the track, but I have never had a wheel stud come loose on
its own even though I use AntiSeize liberally on all of them.
Regards
George
