Heater control valve 80Q

On the older 87 4000 the plastic valve is under the back end (firewall) of
the engine and has a wire cable connecting it.  This valve sends hot water
to your heater core.  If you turned it to cool for the summer it may be
sticking there.
Take your hand (with motor off) and slifde the lever on top of the valve by
hand back and forth (side to side) not up and down.

Otherwise collant level full?   I can snap a photo if you want.

The valve is supposed to be in the engine=
 compartment I guess, but I don't see it.
