Is this INSIDE the car or on the floor of the garage? If the clip fell off
inside the car, it probably is used to anchor the cable to the handle you
pull to release the hood latch. The wire still should be sticking out of
the cable housing, so you should be able to open the hood with pliers. If
the metal piece fell onto the garage floor, you may be able to get to the
cable by removing the driver side wheelwell lining, if I recall correctly
from the postings you'll find in the archives.
