Really weird fuel gauge problem on type 44

Ooh, ooh, ooh, I know this one!!!  Pick me, pick me!!!  K, here's what I did.  When I took the fuel pump out, I didn't pay attention to where the lines for the pump were.  When I put them back in, the tank would only register half full.  The lines were actually entanged on the moving arm that sends the signal to the gauge.  So, you either have to get back in there and fix them or know your mileage really well.  Might want to look in another Audi to see how they go.
