V8 I.C. Problems

My mechanic says the temp and the gas gauge are wired to a connector that
sometimes needs to get re-seated. Also , the seat belt signal and the
switch on the aux. fan are all tied together with this circuit.

Installing new fuses solved this problem. I may still need to have the
connector fixed on the circuit board.

Per my intermittent problem with my headlights turning on and off, I have
changed out all of my fuses in the passenger footwell.

Don't know if this was some sort of "placebo" but changing out all the
fuses has seemed to stop these errant problems. And/or reseating fuses did
the trick. A lot of my electrical problems that I've attributed to the
eccentricities of Audi's electrical system, were either blown or failing
fuses. Duhhhh!.

Although , my mechanic has justified the reason my gas gauge/ temp gauge
going on and off is due to a loose connection. It is working steady for 3
days.

My rear defogger stopped working . Now it works.

And my headlights no longer flicker ( knock on wood). However, maybe the
life of this switch will be greatly increased if I go to the relay harness.
I am using the sylvania Silverstar 55 w low-beam halogens " capable" of 41k
h.i.d. type light. ( don't know if this all b###@hit)

Also my blower motor would only work on high. Now I have all speeds.

Yippeee !!!!
