I don't think the spam is list related. I use a different email address
dedicated only for my lists and I hardly get any spam on it.

Profile is irrelevant - and actually, I think you'll find audifans.com
is not exactly a secret - there are many, many links to it on the web,
and a few gigs of archives are a pretty big target for bots, right?
As was said between your comment and this one, it's a bit of a pity the
archives are totally exposed, member-only access would not really be a
problem, would it? Since you can be a no-mail member, it's not a burden
to use them that way.

PS, since I have the opportunity to create a quasi-infinite number of
email addresses at my domains (they all just get forwarded to me), I
have been playing with making email addresses for on line use "the
vendor's name" @ "one of my domains". At least it will be obvious where
the leak was if they generate spam!
