I'm not sure on the proper way to check, I just
swapped in a spare that I had sitting around.
Thankfully I picked it up while I was staring at a
5ktq in the junkyard wondering, what part am I going
to fry next, hmm, that there coil might do me good
some day.

Anyways, It was very strange, because it didn't
totally die, but just refused to ignite the mixture
above 8-10 psi all the sudden. It was slightly temp
related. A few mornings it would boost to 13 psi or
so when cold, and I thought the problem may be fixing
itself, but once it warmed, it just seemed to get
weaker and weaker. 8-10 psi is definitely in your
range, swap that puppy out! Even if you get another
bad used one or something, it may act different enough
for you to justify the money on a new or know good
one.
