There is no such thing as a simple brake job (95 90 q sport)

Greetings all I hope no one could hear me screaming form CT,

Well, I must have done something wrong in a past life. I figured out why
the inside front brake pads wore out before the outsides, by a huge margin.
The Carrier pins were stuck. Now comes the fun part.

I soaked them in penetrating oil for a while, not long enough obviously, and
began to work them loose. The first one began to wiggle and I managed to
extract it. The second was stuborn so I applied a little heat from a
propane torch than applied presure with 1/2 drive socket. It began to budge
but no it sheered off.

I'm sure I can drill it out, make that bring to machine shop, but can I buy
just the carrier pin? I looked at the ETKA sheet that the dealer gave me a
week or so ago and it looks like the pin comes as part of the carrier (#447
615 125). Mail order has the carrier for $65 but do I really have to do
this.

Any thoughts?

JJS
