a6 Avant brake Q

If the pads are new, they will be VERY soft until bedded. The dealer
didn't mention that to me when they replaced the pads on my '00 A6,
and I damn near killed myself when the brakes I had come to rely on
weren't there!

BTW, apparently the '99, '00, and maybe '01 A6s are having a problem
with front brake rotors that are a little too thin and prone to warping.
So it is not at all uncommon for them to get new pads and rotors every
year "until the problem is sorted out". Already had mine replaced
twice, in 30K miles.
