starter removal4kq :any top bolt BtDt?

I know this has probably been covered ....but I couldn't find an answer to my
liking in the archives.

How in the world do you get the top bolt loose short of removing the lower
pipe?
I got a wrench down on it from the top...after removing the intake boot, but
it is very tight in there, and I can't seem to get leverage enough to break
it loose....
there is very little room to swing a wrench.

and if I have to remove the lower pipe ....how is this done without removing
the subframe?
