Which do you have to replace ? Ignition or Doors?

We have had several instances of our (NON AUDI CONTENT) Rover Metro being
broken into!
So I quickly learned how to have to replace the damaged lock barrels for the
doors and boot by replacing the differs and making up barrels to match the
new ignition lock I purchased.
There are usually seven or eight different differs in a lock and there are
only four variations and if you remove the barrell carefully (don't lose the
little springs!)and take the differs out you can grade them and swap them
about to make a set up. There have been references on the web on how to do
it yourself.

When I bought my son his Audi Coupe it had been broken into and I got from
the Audi dealer a new lock barrell and a set of new differs. I needn't have
because I then went to the local scrap yard and bought a good replacement
handle and several lock barels very cheap and striped them all to make a kit
of parts.

Taking handles off on old coupe and changing barrels is easy, when you try.
Done the same on old VW too. See below.
