They: "Hmm, you must be makin' good money to be drivin' a fine lookin' car
like that"
I: "What?? Thanks! It's 12 years old!"
They: "Wow! Really!? I didn't realize that! How many miles does it have on
it?"
I: "180K"
They: "Wow! It really looks good! What is it?"
I: "Audi V8"
They: "It's a V8?????" now curiously approaching the car, peering inside
with their beady eyes
They: "Wow! It's nice! Wood and everything..."
I: "Thanks"
They: "I bet it's expensive...(!)"
I: "I paid $7K for it"
They, in disbelief: "Really??? What's wrong with it?"
I: "Nothing. It runs great. I plan on keeping it for another 150K miles"
They: "Wow! You can't even get a used Ford Taurus for that - at least not
one in good shape..."
I: "Nope! And this one has power everything, leather, climate control,
heated seats, etc., etc., etc."
They, having just had their total beliefsystem shattered: "Wow! Nice! What
kind did you say it was? Ohdi?"
