are a 90's power mirrors repairable?

huw,
that rocks. thanx for the details. someone else posted that the wires
cracking int he doorjamb can cause the sumptom i have [left+right ok,
up+down bad].
Ill check that 1st, if it's not wiring, then i will probably pull it apart +
try to fix. and if thats a no go ill give chris a try.

fyi: i took the mirror off the 5000 to look at it, and maybe use a motor in
the 90 [if they proved to be the same motor] and i couldnt get the mirror
apart - i didnt break it, but it looked like i'd have to to get into it.
