Well, generally speaking, wandering rear ends are usually attached to
their owner... ;-)
Oh, as for a type 44, check ALL of the suspension bushings, shock
condition, tire inflation pressures
and alignment. Although I think that the type 44 rear suspension tends to
loose a little composure in
extremely rapid transitions (i.e. autocross, canyon running), I haven't
felt the rear to be too affected by
wind, even though my camber is a little too negative. TOE, OTOH,
particularly toe OUT can cause a
wandering rear. My most likely candidate would be worn bushings,
especially if the car is wind
sensitive while in straight line driving.
As for the roll situation, Huw's suggestion of outriggers begs the
question, "if I go oval track racing, can I
just run with an outrigger on the right side of the car, or do I need
both?"
Finally, has anyone successfully tried different anti-roll bar(s) on a
non coil-over type 44 ?
